about

Hi there! I’m Chelsea–the recipe developer, photographer, writer, and taste tester behind Chelsea’s Messy Apron (although my little ones help me out quite a bit with the taste testing part!). I LOVE getting creative in the kitchen and then posting my creations here for you to enjoy. Take some time to browse through my 800+ recipes I’ve created over the years, and let me know when you try one! (I’d recommend this snickerdoodle recipe as a good starting point – they are SO good)

Thanks again for stopping by!

about the author

I was born and raised in Utah where I now live with my husband and two little boys and baby girl. My little kiddos keep me busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My oldest absolutely loves baking in the kitchen with me and the taste tests are his favorite! My youngest is only interested in sneaking chocolate chips… You’ll occasionally see their chubby baby hands in my photos reaching for a treat – so cute!

I got my college degree in Exercise & Wellness* and my classes focused on nutrition, personal training, and exercise physiology. I met my husband during my sophomore year of college and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We both graduated together and spent some time in Ohio & Australia before making our way back to Utah. We LOVE Utah as we’re both outdoors people, and especially love living next to family.

I’m 100% chocolate-obsessed, and luckily also love to run. I am obsessed with Fall-time, hiking, action movies, eating, traveling, and tickling my babies. (And not in that order.) Oh I also like to bake and cook – but maybe that was implied;)

about the recipes

All the recipes on Chelsea’s Messy Apron are all developed by me (unless otherwise noted). I love experimenting in the kitchen and creating new, creative recipes. Or, I’m just in the kitchen eating. Both are good. I develop my recipes through good old fashioned trial and error. But whether I get it right the first time or the 15th time, I make sure every recipe that shows up here is of the highest quality.c

I try to eat a balanced diet of healthful foods, but I do also love desserts. You’ll find that most of my recipes are healthy and easy but still taste great! That said, I do have treats on the site that aren’t very healthy, but I have found that eating is all about balance. I hope you find a few recipes on here that you can enjoy.
