Tips for the free printables

  • Don’t want to print or cut these out? Buy high-quality printed and cut out toppers here.
  • Print the bag toppers on glossy card stock paper for best results.
  • To make cutting and folding the printable much easier, use a good Paper Cutter and a Scoring Board.
  • Zip-loc® has the nicest-looking snack-size resealable bag, but any snack-size resealable bag will work.
  • Do not print straight from the website file; make sure to first save it to your computer and then print. (If you’re still having issues, try a different browser, or feel free to drop me an email!)

These printables were designed by the amazing CeeCeeBelle’s who we’ve collaborated with a few times here! (See Christmas printables, Valentine’s printables, Halloween printables, St. Patrick’s Day Printables.)

Equipment

  • 12 snack-sized and 2 gallon-sized resealable plastic bags

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Rice Chex or other crispy rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (I recommend Guittard or Ghirardelli)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Easter/Spring M&M's

Instructions

  • Measure cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter. Microwave in bursts of 15 seconds, stirring in between each burst for 15 seconds, until the mixture is melted and smooth. Add in the vanilla and salt. Pour over the prepared cereal. Stir well until the cereal is evenly coated.
  • Pour half of the cereal mixture into a gallon-sized plastic bag and pour half of the powdered sugar over it. Seal and shake until the cereal is evenly coated. Repeat with the other half of the cereal and powdered sugar in the same or a different bag. Shake until all the cereal is well coated.
  • Pour coated mix into a large bowl and stir in spring-colored M&M's. Divide into individual snack size bags and attach a free printable bag topper!
  • Alternatively: store leftover Muddy Buddies in an airtight container at room temperature.

  1. Chelsea, all of the pictured treats are a delight, and people will love them, however, I really have a problem with the staples you used to attach the bags. There has got to be a better way to attache the bags to the decorative piece. A treat like this will obviously attrated toddlers, young kids, and I have spent too many years in the operating room helping the doctor remove staples or other little pieces of metal from the breathing pipe of little children. Please come up with an alternative to the staples. (eg glue gun ? hole puncher and ribbon ?)

Hi Chelsea! Thanks so much for the great treat ideas. I wanted to send something personalized to my grandsons, and the “Some Bunny Loves You” printable was just right. I used a quart bag and added a larger Lindt Gold Bunny with a generous handfull of Dove chocolates. They’ll love it. I’m also making smaller treat bags for the officers at our small-town police department. Hope you have a Happy Easter and bright and shiny Spring.
