There is a video tutorial above this text and below are specific instructions for each of these treats. 🙂 Each recipe below has a full recipe with ingredients and directions.

First: HEART HUG PRETZELS.

These are a slight variation on the Rudolph noses I shared this past December. My family LOVES these little treats and I have a ton of fun making them with the kiddos. They are crazy easy to make and so fast.

A couple keys for success: 1. make sure to use regular (not convention) settings on your oven and 2. test the baking time. You aren’t baking the chocolate Hugs, but rather getting them *just* soft enough to press an M&M into the top. Test a single pretzel with a hug for 2 minutes; if it cracks/gets crumbly at all, try it for a minute less and if the chocolate isn’t soft enough add on another 30 seconds to 1 full minute.

Ingredients

  • 25 pretzels -- square or twists
  • 25 hugs candies
  • 25 Valentine's Day M&Ms

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Do not preheat using convection settings.*
  • Line a tray with parchment paper and place the pretzels on the tray.
  • Unwrap the hugs and place on top of the pretzels.*
  • Bake for 1-3 minutes or until the hugs are soft enough to press an M&M into (but not melted).
  • Press an M&M candy into the center of the hugs right out of the oven.
  • Allow the chocolate to harden.

Recipe Notes

*I've had a few people report issues with the hugs crumbling; this means the oven was too hot or the chocolate was baked too long. I would recommend trying 1 at first to test in your oven. If it crumbles, reduce the baking time for the rest. Do not use convection oven settings.

Third: LOVE FORTUNE “COOKIES”.

I can’t take the credit for these cute treats! I saw these treats last year and knew I had to make them for my boys sometime since they both adore fruit roll-ups. I slightly changed the method, but for more step-by-step pictures, click here.

I use a 2-inch cookie cutter for these “fortune cookies;”but in case you can’t find a round cookie cutter in the store, or prefer the convenience of shopping online, here is a link to check out a cutter:

  • 1 box (10 ounces; 20 pack) Red Mini Fruit Roll-ups regular sized works too
  • Parchment paper no substitutes
  • Permanent Marker

Instructions

  • Cut thin pieces of parchment paper for the inside message.
  • Write the messages on the paper with the permanent marker and allow to completely dry.
  • Unwrap the fruit roll-ups and using a 2-inch cookie cutter, cut out as many circles as you can get from the roll-ups.
  • Stack 3 circles on top of each other. Place the message in the bottom 1/3 of the circles. Fold the circles in half being careful to only fold the ends together and not flatten the circles.
  • Grab each corner with your thumb and pointer finger. Crease in the middle, using the pointer finger from your other hand. Pinch to form a fortune cookie shape and hold until it stays,
  • Store the cookies on the plastic wrapper that they were wrapped in or wax paper. Gift soon after making!

Last of all: WHITE CHOCOLATE HEART PRETZELS.

If you can’t tell from the amount of chocolate + pretzels on my site, chocolate-covered pretzels are one of my favorite treats! These are seriously simple to make and, dare I say, even better than chocolate-covered pretzels because there is MORE chocolate! You could also use dark or milk chocolate in the center of these pretzels instead of white chocolate!

In case you can’t find the sprinkles in the store, or prefer the convenience of shopping online, here is a link to the exact sprinkles I bought:

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 ounces) white chocolate chips high quality
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bag miniature twist pretzels
  • 1 container Jumbo heart srpinkles

Instructions

  • Prepare a tray with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Set the pretzels on the tray.
  • Melt the white chocolate in the microwave in bursts of 15 seconds stirring in between each burst for 10-15 seconds. Patiently melting the chocolate will make sure it doesn't burn!
  • If needed add the oil to slightly thin the chocolate. Add very slowly and just if the chocolate is too thick. (I usually add about 1/2 teaspoon to 1 full teaspoon to each cup of chocolate chips)
  • Pour the melted white chocolate into a plastic bag, seal the bag tightly without air, and snip off the very tip with scissors.
  • Pipe the melted chocolate into the centers of the pretzels
  • Gently wiggle the pretzels side to side to get the chocolate smooth.
  • Add a heart sprinkle to the center immediately. Let set at room temperature.

Next: a MINI VALENTINE BEAR HOLDING A HEART. These are super simple and so dang cute. My toddler is obsessed with Teddy Grahams so when I saw a box of them in our pantry, I knew they had to make it somewhere into a Valentine treat 🙂

Melted chocolate (or you could use frosting) holds the heart onto the bear’s body. And in case you can’t find the sprinkles in the store, or prefer the convenience of shopping online, here is a link to the exact sprinkles I bought:
