These treats take minutes to assemble, are easy to transport, and require only six ingredients. Are you a Rice Krispie Treat fanatic? Try the original Rice Krispies Treats, these Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats, or these Scotcheroos next! I have a lot of green treats on my site related to St. Patrick’s Day, including Leprechaun Bait, these Mint Brownies, or these St. Patrick’s Day Treats), but I realized I don’t have any rainbow-themed treats! So with that, today I’m bringing you a simple and colorful treat: Fruity Pebbles® Rice Krispies® Treats! I love how these really are the perfect last-minute treat as they take less than 10 minutes to make and don’t require any baking! How to make these treats Line a pan: these treats are loaded with marshmallows, so you’ll want to make sure to line your pan with parchment paper (or foil in a pinch) so you can easily remove these bars. I love this 9 x 9 Cake Pan for this recipe. Melt the marshmallows: The key here is to melt the marshmallows and butter over low heat and stir constantly so the mixture doesn’t burn or become hard. Flavor enhancements: I add a little salt and vanilla extract to the melted marshmallows. It serves to amp up the flavor of these treats. Add cereal: Last but not least, gently stir in the cereals and load the mixture into the prepared pan. The Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispies Treats will be ready to eat as soon as they’ve cooled to room temperature. QUICK TIP When spreading the treats in the pan, you can keep everything un-sticky by spraying your fingers with nonstick baking spray. It really helps! Alternatively, you can use the butter wrapper to spread the mixture. Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispies Treat tips Don’t compress: Once you’ve spread the Rice Krispie mixture into the pan, avoid compressing it too much. Over-compressing the bars will yield brick-hard bars. Low heat: When marshmallows are exposed to high heat, they harden and will make your bars too firm. Keep the heat as low as possible and remove the marshmallows as soon as they’re melted. Stir the marshmallows almost constantly while they are melting. Use fresh marshmallows: The fresher your marshmallows, the softer and more enjoyable your Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie Treats will be. Plain Rice Krispies aren't highly sweetened, while Fruity Pebbles are. Made these today for my 3 year old grandaughter’s birthday party! They were fantastic! Everyone loved them! Reply
I’ve made the plain version for my 3 children when they were younger. They still love them. My Twins are 39 yrs old & my youngest son is 31. Easy to make Reply
Made these for a party and they were a huge hit! I love the idea of mixing Fruity Pebbles with regular Rice Krispies, and adding more marshmallows at the end–really makes the bars softer and delicious! This will be my new go-to party snack. Reply
Omg ! I made a batch last night and they were delicious . I didn’t even have time to take a picture of them , they were all gone before i knew it . Reply
This is discrimination against us 75 yr old children :-). I have a good mind to throw a paddy and stamp my feet. Reply
Easy recipe. Did this with my 3 year old daughter. We added some Nerds for an extra pop in flavor Reply
By far the best treats I have ever made. These were so soft! The plain/fruity ratio was spot on. Reply
What a compliment! Thanks so much Andrea! So glad you loved these Fruity Pebble Rice Krsipie Treats! 🙂 Reply
How long do these stay good for? Are they gooey & chewy? I do not want them to harden up. I would love to try the recipe! Thanks 🙂 Reply
Can this recipe be halved? If so, can I just divide by 2 or need to keep special ratios in mind? Thanks! 🙂 Reply
I’ve never tried halving it but it should halve nicely. I’d just be sure to add it to a smaller pan! Reply
Unfortunately that won’t work; Fruity Pebbles are a sugary cereal, here’s a link explaining! https://www.amazon.com/Post-Fruity-Pebbles-15-oz/dp/B00N9TWYDA#:~:text=Fruity%20PEBBLES%20cereal%20is%20a%20sweetened%20crispy%20rice%20cereal%20with,favorite%20for%20over%2040%20years! Reply
Thank you so much! This is delish! Can’t wait for my family to try it tonight – I almost never make rice krispies, so this will make them so happy! Reply
Wowsers!!! This is the perfect Rice Krispie treat. There, I’ve said it. Everyone in the family LOVED them. The hubs said they were restaurant quality. I’m going to have to stock up on the ingredients because I can see this becoming our go-to quick sweet treat. Thank you!! Reply
Amazing Recipe! LOVE how you put the measurements including specifically in grams! So detailed and amazing pro tips added in 😉 Reply
I made them tonight and they were delicious! I loved the idea of mixing normal rice crispies with the fruity pebble ones. It makes it not so sweet. Will definitely be making this again! Reply
Going to make these tomorrow! Pardon the dumb question, but is the 2nd half of marshmallows supposed to melt when added in to the mixture? Reply
Not dumb at all! Some melt and some partially melt so it just makes for a nice texture in the treats! Reply
